On February 24, 2020, Filaction announced the relaunch of the Innovation Fund for Governance and Management of Collective Enterprises (INNOGEC Fund). Projects submitted within the framework of this fund will allow collective enterprises to receive professional management consulting and governance services.

The INNOGEC Fund is aimed at collective enterprises (cooperatives or non-profit organizations forming part of the social economy) or people wishing to set up a social economy enterprise. It is therefore accessible to both existing enterprises and those currently in development. All activity sectors are eligible.

Eligible Projects

The list of projects eligible under the Fund is broad and diverse and may include interventions such as : analysis of production costs of services, financial analysis, communications, development of new services, business diagnosis, market research and development of new markets, human resource management, business plan, marketing plan, strategic planning, Web strategy and social media, etc.

A number of eligibility conditions were defined and they must be met at the time of filing of an application. The project must notably be supported by a partner of the Fund or a local development support agency (ex. Social Economy Pole, Coopérative de développement régional du Québec ((CDR)), etc.). It’s important to note that the Fund cannot be used to pay for salaries of company employees or for the acquisition of capital assets. Effectively, consulting services which will be the subject of an application must be provided by a recognized social economy enterprise.

Terms and Conditions of the Fund

The financial assistance granted to the selected projects may cover up to 40 % of professional fees of an intervention.  Also, the amount of grant per project cannot exceed 15 000 $. And finally, government assistance in all its forms cannot exceed 80 % of the total cost of an intervention.

The deadline for submission of an application is April 30 2020.
