Indigenous Business Directory: Showcase the Know-How of First Nations Communities

The First Nations of Québec and Labrador Economic Development Commission (FNQLEDC) is proud to announce the launch of its Indigenous business directory, entirely revised, with a new and simplified interface. This reference tool lists more than 1,000 First Nations businesses in the Province of Québec, situated on and off reserve!

Indigenous Business Directory: Showcase the Know-How of First Nations CommunitiesCreated with the support of Indigenous Services Canada, this online tool indexes and offers visibility to all First Nations businesses in the Province of Québec. Available in English and French, the way it works is simple and intuitive. The directory is also accessible on mobile devices, which greatly facilitates the consultation of data on an iPad or iPhone.

A practical tool

Further to showcasing First Nations businesses in the Province of Québec, this tool will also be useful for non-Indigenous businesses, as well as federal and provincial public institutions, to facilitate relationships.

By being listed in this directory, completely free of charge, businesses will benefit from an important visibility in the Indigenous and non-Indigenous business sectors. They therefore increase their chances of being informed of new requests for proposals that might be of interest to them, increasing their possibilities of being awarded important contracts.

An indispensable source of information

The FNQLEDC would like this directory to become an important showcase for the products and services offered by Indigenous businesses in Québec, as well as an essential source of information for anyone or any business looking for an Indigenous business.

This tool is a must to promote and make known Indigenous businesses in Québec, everywhere across the globe, to create relationships, and act as a catalyst for the Indigenous business sector.

Anyone or any business may consult the directory by going to the dedicated website or by accessing it from the FNQLEDC website.

All Indigenous businesses can register with the directory as of now, and totally free of charge. To do so, all that is required is to go to the dedicated website and click on “Register a business” at the bottom right of the page.

Should you encounter any difficulties, please contact Véronique Édé, Digital Communications Officer, at vede@cdepnql.org.

The objectives of the Indigenous business directory

  • Discover most of the businesses established in the Indigenous communities of Québec.
  • Gather relevant information for quick contact with those in charge of the businesses listed.
  • Increase the capacity of making known small to medium-size Indigenous enterprises (SME) to Indigenous businesses.
  • Act as a database to demonstrate the potential of the offer and the capacities of Indigenous businesses in the province.

They are diversified and located throughout Québec: discover who they are and encourage them by consulting our directory!

To consult the directory, go to entreprises.cdepnql.org or access the “INDIGENOUS BUSINESS DIRECTORY” section heading from the FNQLEDC website.

To register your business in the directory, click on “Register a business” at the bottom of the dedicated website.

In 2023, the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission (FNQLEDC) awarded eleven (11) Nikanewin Bursaries of $2,500 in addition to one $5,000 Bursary. These grants were awarded specifically to First Nations people aged 18 and over living in Quebec (inside or outside the communities) who have a business project in mind and want to take action. Today, we present to you one of the recipients of the 2023 edition, Ms. Lily Duchesneau, and her Hutte de médecine étoilée (starry medicine hut) project.
