Description of Service
The mission of the First Nations of Quebec Business Network (FNQBN) is to promote networking within the business community and to support the development of entrepreneurship throughout the First Nations of Quebec.

The FNQLEDC offers members of the FNQBN a preferred rate for registration at its events and training activities.
Upcoming events and training
Neashish & Champoux
Neashish & Champoux offer FNQBN members a preferred rate of $150/hour compared to its regular rates which vary between $175 and $200/hour. This preferred rate may be subject to adjustments depending on the complexity and expertise required.
RBA Financial Group
The Multi-Employer Group Insurance Plan was created by the RBA Financial Group in order to provide a flexible plan adapted to the needs of small businesses and their employees.

Our advisor

Steve Laveau has more than 22 years of experience working with major financial institutions. As a member of the Huron-Wendat Nation, he takes the time to listen to people and to understand their needs. He holds a B.A. in business administration with a concentration in finance from the Université Laval. For the first eight years of his professional career, he worked in the field of Indigenous tourism.
Description of Service
The team of Community Economic Development Officers, working for the economic development advisory service, will provide accompaniment for entrepreneurs throughout the startup, consolidation and expansion stages of their enterprise.
All services are provided free of charge.
Depending on the nature of the request, the FNQLEDC may travel throughout the territory to provide such services or make them available throughout remote access where possible.
Offered services
- Accompaniment and support for enterprise projects in conjunction with FNQLEDC advisors;
- Personalized research and development based on the nature of the business projects;
- Overview of potential sources of funding for entrepreneurs.

The Social Economy Service promotes collective entrepreneurship within First Nations communities and provides technical support to Indigenous collective entrepreneurs.
All services are provided free of charge.
The same service coordinates the First Nations Social Economy Regional Table.
Depending on the nature of the request, the FNQLEDC may travel throughout the territory to provide such services or make them available throughout remote access where possible.

- Accompaniment throughout the startup, consolidation and collective enterprise development stages of a project (Ex.: a Cooperative or N-Profit).
Our advisor

Annick Tremblay is a Native of the Mashteuiatsh community. Her academic background is quite diversified with her university studies in primary and early childhood education, Aboriginal tourism and business start-up. Annick is mandated to help and support the community economic development agents and organizations in processes of social and collective entrepreneurship.

The Youth Entrepreneurship Service is designed to see an entrepreneurial culture develop among Indigenous youth through workshops and entrepreneurship awareness activities. An individual accompaniment service is also provided to young people who start a business or grow.

Depending on the nature of the request, the FNQLEDC may travel throughout the territory to provide such services or make them available throughout remote access where possible.

- Accompaniment for the pre-startup phase (Ex.: Explore ideas, business plan, search for funding, etc.);
- Accompaniment in startup phase of business;
- Accompaniment for business expansion;
- Assistance with registration in the Quebec Registry of Businesses (REQ);
- Potential funding available for training;
- Access to training and events organized by the FNQLEDC.

Myriam Vallières holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Sherbrooke. Dynamic and versatile, Myriam has a diversified career path and her work experience with young people all across the country allows her to provide First Nations with expert advice adapted to their realities.

Emmanuel Bertrand-Gauvin has a Master’s Degree in economic anthropology focusing on wealth redistribution and financial management practices. Emmanuel has worked for the Makivik Corporation where he helped create a regional community structure to promote education and healthy life habits among youth.

In order to access these services, you must be registered with one of the accompaniment services provided by the FNQLEDC.

- Accompaniment during pre-startup phase (Ex. : Business plan, funding search, etc.);

Depending on the nature of the request, the FNQLEDC may travel throughout the territory to provide such services or make them available throughout remote access where possible.

- Organizing conferences and training on Indigenous taxation;
- Explaining and simplifying the notion of connecting factors (tax exemption ) and their application to various situations;
- Explaining and simplifying the application of indirect taxes in an Indigenous context.
