    In 1996, following the announcement of the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) of a pilot project to create a network of ten communities, a real willingness emerged for the establishment of an organization dedicated to supporting First Nations economic development representatives and officers in Quebec and Labrador.<\/p>

    On December 9, 1999, delegates and officials of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador, representatives of economic development organizations and government, and numerous observers founded an organization to bring together community economic development organizations (CEDOs) and representatives of economic development.<\/p>

    In 2000, when the FNQLEDC first went into operation, the Assembly of Chiefs approved by way of resolution that the FNQLEDC would be accountable to the Chiefs in assembly through the establishment of a close link with the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
