A CONFERENCE DAY TO SHOWCASE COMMUNITY-BASED BUSINESS TRANSFER IN UASHAT AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

With the collaboration of the Centre de transfert d’entreprise du Québec (CTEQ), the team of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission (FNQLEDC) was pleased to present the 2nd edition of its annual Conference Day on Business Transfer.

On May 9th, community economic development officers as well as Indigenous and non-Indigenous entrepreneurs gathered at the Shaputuan Museum. This meeting of various business transfer and acquisition stakeholders fostered a sharing of experience and knowledge among those involved in the sector.

Course of the event

The event officially launched with an introductory panel to business transfer and its ecosystem that was facilitated by Frédérick Martel. The panel was made up of Antoine Grenier (FNQLEDC), Stéphane d’Amours (CTEQ), Paul Lavoie from the Développement économique Sept-Îles (DESI) and Ken Rock from the Société de Développement Économique Uashat mak Mani-utenam (SDEUM).

Throughout the day, numerous panels and presentations were presented on various themes such as successful business transfer and acquisition testimonials, the different stages of business transfer, a portrait of community-based business transfer in Uashat and the concept of financing business acquisition. In short, it was a day full of information and resources for our participants!

The event concluded with a networking cocktail reception that gave participants an opportunity to share ideas and expand their networks while enjoying delicious crab provided by Uashat’s community council.

The FNQLEDC would like to thank all the participants who, thanks to their participation, made this event possible.

We would like to remind you that the FNQLEDC can support you in all stages of the acquisition, transfer or sale of a business. For more information, we invite you to visit cdepnql.org or contact us at [email protected].
