Manikaso Centre

The Manikaso Centre aims to raise awareness, educate, and provide support regarding financial literacy and housing in First Nations communities and urban centres in Quebec.

Offered services:

Objectives:

Development of knowledge in personal finance management

Raising awareness of the different types of possible housing and developing knowledge about housing

All workshops have been designed to be presented in person and are open to all (e.g., secondary IV and V students, workers, etc.).

Group workshops available

Financial literacy:

Learning about my expenses

Creating a budget

Understanding credit

Financial literacy awareness

Housing literacy:

Process of building a house

Workshops on other themes will be developed and offered soon.

The Manikaso Centre is a project of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission. It was created in collaboration with several financial and business partners.

The FNQLEDC, in collaboration with the Centre de transfert d’entreprise du Québec (CTEQ,) was pleased to welcome community economic development officers (CEDOs), on March 26th, as well as Indigenous and non-Indigenous entrepreneurs from the Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec regions as part of its Conference Day on Business Transfer.
