On October 23 and 24, 10 Indigenous women entrepreneurs from across Quebec attended an exceptional event: the Meshkanau Bootcamp!
Organized by the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission and facilitated by Ms. Mélanie Paul, this bootcamp was a great opportunity for these women to recharge their batteries, network and connect with each other.

Mélanie Paul is an entrepreneur, speaker, trainer and strategic advisor. She is also the creator of the Moccasins et Talons Hauts initiative, whose goal is to transform the inner dualities that are created in Indigenous women entrepreneurs so that they can finally wear their identity proudly.
For Mélanie, the Meshkanau Bootcamp is a dream come true, as it has allowed her to pass on the knowledge and learning that she has acquired and decided to indigenize through unifying workshops. Based on a holistic Indigenous approach and enriched with contemporary knowledge in business, psychology and neuroscience, this extraordinary bootcamp was designed to meet the realities of First Nations.
Striving for professional development through personal development
Over the course of these two days, the ten participants discovered how to optimize their professional development by working on personal development through team building activities, personal growth and a holistic assessment.
One of the objectives of the Bootcamp was to firmly identify the values, strengths, talents and network of allies that make up our identity as entrepreneurs. This allows us, as leaders, to transform our differences into strengths that propel us in business.
Through the many moments of introspection, vulnerability, sharing and solidarity, all these women entrepreneurs come out a little more inspired, determined and rooted in their Indigenous identity.
The FNQLEDC would like to thank Mélanie Paul and all the Indigenous women entrepreneurs who, thanks to their participation, were able to make this wonderful initiative a reality. This is one more step towards the empowerment of First Nations communities. Tshinashkumitinan!
