Social Economy Animation Kit: Changing the World, One Project at a Time
As Social Economy Month begins, the New Pathways Foundation is pleased to present Changing the World, One Project at a Time, a joint initiative with the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission (FNQLEDC), the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) and M361. We are excited to be launching this range of tools to inform and educate First Nations youth in Quebec 15 and older about the social economy.
Through this initiative, high schools, youth centres, adult education centres, employability centres, entrepreneurship camps and other organizations involved in youth economic development in various First Nations communities will have access to materials to encourage youth to explore the social economy and stimulate their entrepreneurial creativity. The turnkey formula features a number of facilitation tools and a video that can be used by teachers, socioeconomic workers, counsellors and youth activity leaders alike to incorporate a social economy awareness component into their programming.
This is intended as an extension of the efforts deployed by local and regional organizations to help improve living conditions in communities by way of social economy initiatives. Changing the World, One Project at a Time promotes the social economy as an economic development strategy in First Nations communities in Quebec and encourages career guidance for youth. It is the first in what will eventually be a whole series of youth engagement tools.
